If you have heavy truck experience, a knack for complex vehicle electrical systems, and a desire to do work that actually matters, we want you on our team. Your meticulous attention to detail directly contributes to the safety of first responders and the communities they protect.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic. You care about the outcome of your work.
  • 4+ years of mechanic experience preferred, with at least 3 years specifically in heavy diesel engine repair.
  • Strong, proven knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, with the ability to easily interpret complex technical manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic equipment, hand/power tools, and a solid understanding of heavy truck hydraulics and brake systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, Email) and the ability to communicate clearly with peers and supervisors.
  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and you must provide your own hand tools & toolbox.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as our go-to expert for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing complex heavy-truck electrical systems, alongside diesel engines, brakes, and hydraulics.
  • Perform routine maintenance (fluid changes, filters, component inspections) with an unwavering commitment to doing it right the first time.
  • Work alongside a dedicated team to troubleshoot complex, heavy-duty mechanical and electrical issues, developing effective repair solutions.
  • Maintain highly accurate, trustworthy records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
  • Perform safety inspections and prepare documentation, strictly adhering to safety protocols to protect yourself, your team, and the firefighters who rely on our trucks.
  • Potential opportunities for travel for contract or warranty repairs for those with mobile mechanic experience.
