Huntsman is seeking a Production Technician supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Houston Port, Texas. This position will report to the Production Manager. Through adherence to all established Operational and EH&S policies, procedures, and practices, the Production Technician will train with a qualified operator to perform all operational tasks necessary to achieve operator progression of the Houston Port TEROL operation. As the Production Technician, you will perform necessary work of an Operator C in the outside operation of operating, startup, and shutdown of process equipment for the production of quality and on-spec products. You will maintain current, detailed knowledge and understanding required of an Operator C of process unit equipment, unit operations, principles or operating methods used in the process and the effects of such operations on equipment involved. You will make periodic rounds of units, checking and/or adjusting process equipment to ensure proper operation, draw product samples for laboratory analysis, and based on laboratory analysis, make necessary changes in operating conditions. Additionally, you will complete reports and records data such as charts, operating data, Work Orders, and Safe Work Permits, using prescribed forms. Maintaining good housekeeping habits to ensure the cleanliness, neatness, and order of work area and equipment is also essential. The role requires monitoring the safe handling, identification, storage, and removal of waste streams resulting from production activities. You will complete all training assignments as assigned and participate in site safety and environmental programs. Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, the ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives. You will work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives and assist other employees in the accomplishment of Huntsman company goals. Following instructions and performing other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor is also part of the role. Participation in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company and completion of company-required training programs are mandatory.
