Operates various plant equipment, performs sanitation and preventative maintenance duties. Assist supervisors in the operations of shift production. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency plus two (2) years of college, a vocational-technical degree, and/or equivalent technical military certification/training.
  • Completion of AIB bakery program.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) or more years experience of production technician experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that production employees are properly instructed and trained in the care and safe operations of equipment.
  • Reviews records and procedures to ensure proper use of time and materials. Performs continuous inspection of products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ensures that all equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Plans and adjusts work assignments of personnel to cover all phases of production.
  • Position may be responsible for operating the facility metal detector(s). For this job responsibility, operator must be fully trained and certified.
  • Promotes positive relations and interdepartmental communication and cooperation.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all personnel through enforcement of safety policies and procedures, including inspections and periodic safety meetings, etc.
  • Assists production supervision as required.
  • May occasionally work in place of employees out sick, on vacation, etc.
  • Checks production work schedule for job assignment and work reporting times.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Ensure compliance with all company rules, policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
  • Complete AIB Master Baker Correspondence Course.
  • Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures
