Production Technician II - Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls
About The Position
Florida Power & Light Company is the largest electric utility in the U.S., providing reliable energy to nearly 12 million Floridians. With one of the nation’s most fuel-efficient, cost-effective power generation fleets and industry-leading reliability, they are redefining what’s possible in energy. This position is within the Power Generation Division, responsible for all NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations. It is a multi-craft role focused on operating and maintaining plant equipment at the plant located in Southport, Florida. The preferred craft is Electrical or I&C. The job involves power plant operations, maintenance on station equipment, and other miscellaneous duties including water chemistry and environmental compliance activities.
Requirements
- Must obtain outside/inside operation qualifications
- Possess Journeyman level qualification specific to the craft discipline specified in the Position Specific Description as an Industrial Electrician, Journeyman I&C, or Journeyman Mechanic, or hold an Associate degree that directly applies to Power Generation
- Must obtain the basic craft of the discipline specified in the Position Specific Description section if entering classification with a relevant Associate degree in addition to outside/inside qualification operation qualification
- High School Diploma / GED
- Pass the POSS & MASS tests
Nice To Haves
- 3-5 years Industrial experience in the craft discipline specified in the Position Specific Description section
