About The Position

The Production Technician – Assembly is responsible for assembling components and products according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions. This role ensures quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the assembly process while supporting production goals.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent; and/or up to three years related experience or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts, subassemblies, and finished products using hand tools, power tools, or automated equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
  • Troubleshoot minor assembly issues and escalate problems to supervisor as needed.
  • Set-up, operate and maintain equipment, tools and/or fixtures on powered equipment spotwelder, greenard, tape machines, co-bot, etc.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot, calibrate and perform repairs to products in work centers. This may include utilizing complex devices such as oscilloscopes, multi meters, and other complex tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to read complex blueprints, schematics, work instruction or job order to determine measurements, dimensions and specifications.
  • Utilize correct fixtures in conjunction with machine settings and materials.
  • Verifies conformance to specifications.
  • Produces highest quality products by following written and oral instructions.
  • Uses and understands functional gages to ensure quality products.
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic product – understanding specs, drawings, wiring and operation of equipment.
  • Must be able to work with model makers and engineers to develop and improve products and processes in work centers (product line)
  • Operate basic manual and air tools (drills, hammers, wire cutters, soldering)
  • Utilize various cleaning supplies (goo gone, stainless polish, sandpaper).
  • Must be able to perform repetitive and non-repetitive manufacturing processes efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to follow and understand order of operations on work orders.
  • Must be able to follow and understand steps and key points as described in the work instructions.
  • Must be able to follow non-conforming material process, red tag non-conforming parts and participate in MRB reviews as needed.
  • Understand Lean Manufacturing concepts, one piece flow (importance of minimizing sub-assembly by keeping WIP to bare minimum).
  • Desire cross-train and learn various production areas
  • Take pride in workmanship

  • Knowledge of basic inspection equipment such as: Vanier Calipers, Micrometers, Test indicators, etc.
  • Uses and understands functional gauges to ensure quality products.
  • Produce quality products by following written and oral instructions.
  • Meet basic standard production rate and continually improve efficiency.
  • Provide feedback to refine and improve processes on an ongoing basis.
  • Must be able to multi-task by running multiple machines or doing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills.
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instruction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed including job rotation and/or overtime.
  • Ability to uphold Safety standards,
  • Participate in continuous process improvements daily on the job,
  • Follow Manufacturing best practices.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Edlund Company and the department.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
