About The Position

The position involves inspection responsibilities in a manufacturing environment, requiring a high school diploma or GED equivalency and at least 5 years of inspection experience. The role demands the ability to use advanced hand tools and measuring devices, perform mathematical calculations, and apply judgment to propose solutions. The inspector will be responsible for daily dispositioning of nonconforming materials, collaborating with internal resources, and maintaining inspection records using Oracle. The role also includes cross-training with employees, completing documentation, and participating in team initiatives while adhering to safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 5 years inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability and willingness to use advanced hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100).
  • Knowledge of electrical components and test methods.
  • Proficiency in understanding special process operations.
  • Demonstrates blueprint interpretation and procedural knowledge.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 – 10 years inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of assembly techniques and geometric dimensions.
  • Possess Weld and Braze inspection certification.
  • Experience in self-directed team environment; lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Applies basic judgement and proposes different solutions.
  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward problems/tasks.
  • Daily dispositioning of nonconforming material.
  • Partners cross-functionally with internal resources to arrive at decisions.
  • Applies established interpersonal skills and leads by example for peers and employees.
  • Develops understanding of GD&T and advanced measurement principles.
  • Identifies and documents non-conforming parts using Oracle.
  • Performs job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
  • Assists support functions in root cause analysis.
  • Uses manual and automated measuring/testing equipment to assure product quality.
  • Cross-trains with employees as needed.
  • Completes all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
  • Communicates with team to ensure awareness of product deficiencies and new processes.
  • Assists leading and supporting team initiatives.
  • Reports problems to appropriate resources.
  • Proactively works to improve efficiency and quality of products.
  • Utilizes proper PPE and follows safety procedures.
