About The Position

Receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Tasks are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions may cause a minor impact on the work unit operations or schedules. Works under general Supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to expert resource. May demonstrate work methods to new employees. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Performs manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products. In addition will perform machine and line setups, feeder repairs and first line preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow
  • In-depth knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems
  • Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools
  • Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems
  • More advanced manufacturing systems knowledge
  • Three to five years relevant experience
  • High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a commitment towards further / additional education
