About The Position

Van Compass manufacturers aftermarket suspension and armor for Mercedes Sprinters, Ford Transit and Ram Promasters. We are looking for an experienced Production Tech to help us weld, laser cut and form parts on press brake.

Requirements

In office 7-5:30, 30 minute lunch, Mon-Thurs, Rathdrum, ID
Proficient in MIG welding steel
Proficient with shop tools: grinders, buffers, hand tools
Able to lift 50 lbs
Able to produce consistent quality at a repeatable pace.

Nice To Haves

TIG welding a plus

Responsibilities

Read and complete work orders as assigned by the shop foreman.
Production welding of product runs, from low to high quantity run sizes.
MIG welding of steel sheet metal parts
Possible TIG welding of Aluminum parts if you are capable
Potential to run in house laser cutter. Load sheets, build cutting nest, un-nest parts.
Potential to run in house press brake.
Follows instructions and coaching of shop foreman and engineering department to ensure quality meets Van Compass brand standards.
Ensure consistent quality of work across production runs.
Ensure work in process is kept in an organized, orderly fashion.
Deburr and final inspection of product.
Move weldments internally between the production area and powder coat area
Report quantity completed to shop foreman.
Notify foreman of issues with equipment or materials.
