Assemble Diesel engine components, including cylinders, pistons, crankshafts, fuel systems, turbochargers, and exhaust systems, following detailed blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions. Perform precision fitting and alignment of parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as torque wrenches, presses, and hoists. Conduct quality inspections at various stages of assembly to identify defects, measure tolerances, and ensure compliance with OEM specifications and regulatory standards (e.g., EPA emissions requirements). Test assembled engines for functionality, including leak checks, pressure tests, and initial run-in procedures, using diagnostic tools and dynamometers. Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues, collaborating with engineers and quality control teams to implement corrective actions. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to 5S principles and safety protocols in a high-volume production setting. Document assembly processes, including part numbers, serial numbers, and test results, in digital tracking systems. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing practices, to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Assist in training junior assemblers and contribute to team goals for production targets and on-time delivery.
