Nestle is hiring for Production Tech 1 Job Description: Cleans, sanitizes, and assembles equipment in an acceptable sanitary fashion within the established time frame on washdowns and in panwash. Responsible to maintain sanitary conditions on the production floor with removal of trash, food waste, and cardboard. Assists in break and lunch rotations for production.

Requirements

  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • 90 days of food manufacturing experience working in a Nestle factory preferred
  • Understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must follow safety rules and procedures including the wearing of safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses where appropriate.
  • Must observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and USDA policies.
  • Push dumpsters weighing up to 1500 lbs. a distance of up to 300 yards a minimum of 5 to 10 times per shift.
  • Help lift refuse barrels weighing up to 300 lbs. They may be lifted up to 2 feet off the ground to be dumped.
  • Must be able to transport oneself to, from, and around one’s designated work area on concrete surfaces which are often uneven, wet, and slippery.
  • Work every scheduled day and arrive at workstation at or before the scheduled starting time. Work overtime as needed.
  • Follow the EPSU training guide.
  • Communicate effectively with various support groups, supervisors, and team members.
  • Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms, or instruments indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances which may cause equipment or product loss and physical harm.
  • Must be able to work in a wet environment (steam, use of water hoses).
  • Must be able to grip/use a low-pressure hot water hose/nozzle (80-100 lbs. of pressure) for 30 minutes to 1-hour periods.
  • Lift/pull 40-60 lbs. (drain grates) at floor level for a distance of 2 feet.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. (drain baskets) from floor level to a height of 3 feet.
  • Use various hand tools, open and close valves, and operate numerous switches and buttons.
  • Must be able to climb and descend ladders.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 35 degrees F. to 100 degrees F.
  • Must possess the ability to understand verbal and written safety and chemical handling instructions.
  • Must be able to possess manual dexterity and strength to operate a high-pressure hose and to use tools in equipment disassembly and reassembly.
  • 90 days of food manufacturing experience working in a Nestle factory preferred
