About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Team Leader to join the Data, Power and Control Team in Reno, NV. The Production Assembly Lead will work as part of a team to assemble products or components of a product. The Production Assembly Lead needs to be a SME (subject matter expert) in the assigned area. This position will lead and perform advanced and complex tasks as well as share expertise in all production operations serving as a mentor to other Assembly Technicians. This position will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals. The Production Assembly Lead, as with all members of the DPC Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by college level Electronics Technician coursework; Associates Degree in Industrial Electronics or related field preferred; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years electro/mechanical assembly experience
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a logical approach to both mechanical and electronic problem-solving
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to solder wires for cables, small wires, and surface mount components
  • Experience with assembly of miniature mechanical components
  • Experience with computer assembly and hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently
  • Computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook), preferred
  • Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process

Responsibilities

  • SME in all related roles; Cord Prep, Packing, or QA
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Establish and complete goals in-line with the Company's Key Results
  • Audit and maintain an acceptable department 5S score
  • Manage queue levels in the assigned area
  • Independently perform routine tasks to inspect and disposition product under the Return Credit RMA process
  • Coordinate and communicate RMA progress and discrepancies to necessary parties
  • Independently perform PCA/part/subassembly/finished product build and quality validation sampling
  • Perform tests on product to determine approval or rejection and write report of examinations
  • Identify and disposition non-conforming parts, assemblies and finished good products
  • Troubleshoot and isolate physical and functional product defects
  • Perform work in a safe manner and report repairs or safety concerns to management
  • Maintain compliance with all ISO regulations and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
