We are actively seeking Stamping Team Leader to join our Stamping Department team on 1st shift (core schedule, Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm) Job Position and Duties May Include: Responsibilities: Team Leaders should model every aspect of behavior required for associates at JIC including professionalism, teamwork, job performance and support for JIC plans, policies and operations Must carry out their routine responsibilities as well as other assigned tasks by motivating associates positively and constructively whenever possible Must take initiative to be proactive, solve problems and overcome obstacles necessary to complete work Must follow up and communicate appropriately Job Description: Enforce and follow all safety rules outlined in the JIC Associate Handbook Enforce and follow JIC's Lock-Out Policy Address all safety issues/violations accordingly (Kevlar sleeves/gloves, safety glasses, grinding goggles/face shields, steel toed boots, uniform worn correctly, earplugs, etc.) Required to be forklift and crane certified within 6 months of starting position Maintain cleanliness and order of their presses at all times Keep racks, baskets, totes and other line side items organized at all times Ensure daily 5S activities are being followed and completed by all associates Ensure area is clean and set up correctly for the next shift Turn off fans, lights, conveyors, etc. at end of shift Verify parts are being handled, lifted, pushed and/or pulled in a safe manner Quality: Team Leaders should operate in a way where they do not accept, make or pass bad parts/blanks When problems occur, they should be addressed and communicated immediately Root Cause should be identified and countermeasured (SNAP) Ensure part checks are being performed on time and correctly as required Must watch all associates to verify part checks, part loading and table inspection is being performed according to process Follow and enforce all JIC quality and containment procedures Ensure all associates are trained on quality procedures and understand Quality Policy Perform first and last part/micrometers checks and gap checks are completed and verify sample blanks are being used Initiate corrective action for any quality issues, assist/support investigation of problems All rework parts should be identified before the end of the shift. Arrangements must be made for associates to handwork/sort before end of shift Support, perform and supervise rework for/with associates as needed. This includes overtime and possible weekends Verify associates understand correct process when hand working/sorting suspect parts Ensure all quality documents are filled out and completed before turning in. Must sign off showing verification Verify correct PPH is showing on TV screen and associates understand all issues pointed out on PPH Confirm press is running with the correct settings (slide height, cushion stroke & pressure, feed length, etc) Cost: Need to control cost of items such as sleeves/gloves, markers, small tools, etc. Look at ways to reduce waste, scrap and overtime Work overtime to support production and rework as needed during the week and weekends 30 minute early start to confirm start-up condition. Expectation is presses are to be running no later than 15 minutes after shift start Delivery: Operate presses in the most efficient and productive manner Verify daily schedule to help meet customer demand (availability of blanks, dies, coils, packaging, etc.) Responsible for training all associates in the area on Operation Standards and operating procedures Verify all start up check sheets are filled out at beginning of shift (crane, forklift and start up sheet in PLEX) All oil containers are full (if applicable) Ensure presses run through breaks and lunches whenever actual is not meeting planned Verify daily production numbers are documented on the whiteboard Verify all whiteboard documents on your press are current Support each die change to achieve target time Verify Daily Production History at the end of the shift to ensure all containers have been scanned away from the press Confirm actual Dial SPM matches PLEX SPM (If not achieving PLEX SPM, understand why it is no look to countermeasure) Verify set up check sheets are filled out correctly before turning in (this includes die height, cushion stroke and pressure) Verify any press or die issues are documented in PLEX (detailed explanation of issues and work/die requests are submitted) Confirm presses are in a running condition before leaving (Blanks loaded, flipped, no die/quality issues, etc.) Management: Follow Environmental & Quality Policy and Work Instructions. Responsible for the completion of documents associated with operations in their area Verify all items (scrap, rework and downtime) are recorded correctly in PLEX and on hand written documents Time sheets are filled out daily and correctly Confirm all information is accurate and up to date (Op Stds, set-up sheets, QC sheets, gap sheets, etc) Associate issues need to be addressed immediately and appropriately Work to positively motivate associates Help associates understand company policies, benefits and operating procedures including expectations with proper behavior Coach associates to improve job performance and behavior as needed. Report any issues to supervisor Confidentiality is a must on all issues Communicate any information to the associates pertaining to their jobs Must actively participate as Leadership to assist in informing associates of Safety, Quality and/or production issues that are passed down from supervisors Blank cycle counts should be done when scheduled and reviewed with supervisor
