About The Position

The Team Leader is responsible for providing leadership to production department teams of employees and lead operators. This position involves ensuring that the plant operates according to set work instructions and SOPs, providing daily feedback to team members on production, schedules, quality, and safety, and practicing and promoting safety, quality, and sanitation by following plant policies and GMPs. The Team Leader will also assist with administrative activities, manage daily production schedules, and coordinate temporary employees.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • Experience in the production department and SAP is preferred
  • Past Supervisory experience or demonstrated ability is a plus
  • Good communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work overtime if needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example
  • Provide teams with information, tools, training and techniques that enable employees to perform their jobs consistently every day
  • Ensure that the plant is operating by set work instructions and SOP's
  • Provide daily feedback to team members on production, schedules, quality, and safety
  • Assure that all important information is transmitted to the next shift
  • Provide input to the Productive Supervisor on production personnel performance and the cross-functionality of the team
  • Practice and promote safety, quality and sanitation by following plant policies, GMP's and procedures
  • Assist with administrative activities such as managing daily production schedule and attending weekly production lock down
  • Submit attendance report weekly
  • Communicate for out of spec batches to the Lab / Management
  • Check HACCP logs and sign off
  • Inventory items as needed and fix discrepancies in SAP
  • Ensure notifications are entered for maintenance needs in SAP and follow-up on these notifications to completion
  • Verify weekly/monthly: COID, POV's, Inventory, Cleaning Coupons, Safety Walks
  • Verify batch sheets are being filled out correctly
  • Provide information and assistance in planning and implementing new projects
  • Coordinate temporary employees and ensure proper training is performed
  • Assist with training a back up lead to cover absences
  • Responsible for adherence to all quality systems including, ISO, Food Safety, Food Defense and an understanding of IFF Quality Policy and procedures
  • Manage shift vacation and overtime
  • Coordinate contractor and maintenance work in your area
