About The Position

PURPOSE: Position exists to provide technical, quality, procedural, and people leadership on the production shifts. To ensure the production objective of safety of all employees, quality of the product and maximum operating efficiency by the utilization of knowledge, training, department resources and communications. The goal is to achieve efficient and economical manufacturing which conforms to the established objectives and goals of the company. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct and manage the work of all hourly plant personnel on your shift for effective plant operations. Responsible for the production of a quality product and the minimization of scrap on each machine. Direct proper use of materials and inspect materials being used. Monitor production responsibilities for SPC functions Prepare for and monitor product changeovers. Compare cycle times to standards. Package quality bottles by verifying bottle inspections are done. Verify correct use of packing procedures on each line. Oversee and verify production labeling and reporting. Minimize scrap in proper utilization of packing materials. Prepares or directs others to prepare carton and unit labels. Oversees material handling and movement procedures. Oversees safe operation of material handling equipment including forklift trucks and pallet jacks. Minimize held-ware and verify that regrind is done properly and completely. Maintain and develop the workforce through training coaching and developing. Maintain safe work environment by verifying the use of PPE by all employees, the floor and the area is clean and free of debris, the building security, fire exits are unblocked and reporting and investigating all accidents and near misses immediately. Maintains Good Communications which includes but is not limited to notifying plant staff when machines are down. Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations Follows GMP policy, product safety and daily cleaning Must be able to work safely and follow Safety Rules and Procedures. Must be able to identify and respond to violations and unsafe conditions. Must be able to wear protective clothing as hair net, uniform, steel toe shoes, gloves, long-sleeved shirt, and earplugs. Must be able to effectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of others. Must be able to follow all Department Procedures and Directives. Handle work order changes. Removing and verifying all materials, paperwork and labels from previous work orders are marked and put away in proper area. All materials, paperwork and labels set up for new work order is also verified. Record cycle times on all machines daily Check regrind percentages on all EBM machines daily. Learn new procedures or equipment to help with implanting training to utilities. Do random quality checks on all machines that are running. Filling in during supervisor absence. Doing shift report in Supervisor absence. Help with Utilities’ breaks. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to Supervisor. Responsible for all hourly shift employees.
