About The Position

Second Nature Brands is on a mission to grow from $500M to $1B over the next 4 years through an aggressive combination of M&A and organic growth. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Lead who will provide hands‑on leadership within a BRCGS‑ and FDA‑regulated food manufacturing environment. This role oversees hourly production associates, ensuring that all safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met. The Team Lead supports compliance with food safety and quality systems, drives daily operational performance, and serves as a key communication link between production employees and the Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of food safety systems and regulatory requirements (BRCGS, FDA, GMP).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including production systems, documentation, and email.
  • Ability to work safely around automated equipment
  • Must be able to work safely around food allergens such as tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, and soy.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English is required to ensure comprehension of CGMPS (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and accurate completion of production documentation related to food safety and traceability, for compliance to food safety laws and regulations governed by US agencies (FDA, USDA/FSIS).

  • Previous lead, trainer, or informal supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical or physical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support production associates to meet safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
  • Assign daily tasks, manage staffing levels, and allocate labor efficiently across production lines or work areas.
  • Train and mentor employees in standard work, food safety principles, and operational procedures.
  • Address performance concerns promptly and escalate issues to the Shift Supervisor when appropriate.
  • Monitor attendance and enforce compliance with Sahale Snacks’ attendance policy; report absences and tardiness to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding as needed.
  • Manage performance on the assigned shift and communicate elevated concerns to leadership.
  • Understand and support execution of plant shutdown procedures.
  • Track, document, and report production status throughout the shift.
  • Enforce adherence to BRCGS, FDA, GMP, and internal food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, allergen control, foreign material prevention, and traceability programs.
  • Perform in‑process checks for product quality, weight accuracy, labeling, and packaging compliance.
  • Support investigations related to food safety, quality incidents, or deviations.
  • Maintain audit‑ready conditions and assist with internal audits, customer visits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor production performance, efficiency, yield, and downtime; support troubleshooting of minor equipment or process issues.
  • Complete beginning‑ and end‑of‑shift documentation accurately and on time.
  • Conduct effective shift handoffs, reviewing key performance updates and ongoing issues with the incoming Team Lead.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by identifying and addressing hazards immediately.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including standardization and process optimization efforts.
