We are looking for an engineer to lead our company wide production surveillance and optimization initiative. Your role will involve developing technical workflows to ensure our base production is performing at its maximum potential. Workflows will include productivity tracking, artificial lift optimization, anomaly detection, closed-loop setpoint control, and more. You will also collaborate with engineers and field personnel across the company to promote knowledge sharing and adoption of optimization workflows. Overall, this role will provide you the opportunity to get exposure across the entire organization and directly impact the company’s cashflow.

Requirements

  • Ability to work and problem solve independently with limited guidance
  • Ability to aggregate, visualize, and QC large datasets to ensure data integrity
  • Spotfire (or PowerBI)
  • Advanced understanding of nodal analysis (ex: IPR, VLP, and Pressure correlations)
  • Experience optimizing various lift types (Gas Lift, Jet Pump, Plunger, ESP, etc)
  • Experience working in a field office setting
  • Advanced communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SNAP, whitson+, Xecta ProdX, or similar software
  • Experience in Permian, Eagle Ford, and/or Uinta basins

Responsibilities

  • Interface with production and reservoir engineers to promote and advance usage of nodal analysis and productivity tracking to optimize production
  • Utilize productivity index tracking and near-term projections to identify optimization opportunities (ex: Identify and remediating off-trends wells, redesign artificial lift, etc)
  • Develop best practices for nodal analysis in key software for engineers to reference
  • Work with external software representatives to advance capabilities and visuals that will benefit internal users
  • Develop relationships and workflows with operations team (engineers and field) to deploy/dispatch optimization recommendations in a safe and efficient manner
