About The Position

Our Graphics department in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is looking for a Production Support Technician to help bring innovative advertising campaigns to life in Baton Rouge, LA, and beyond. This position supports the silk screen printing process by producing films, mixing colors, and registering screens. Why Lamar? Safely handle various chemicals. Ability to follow best work practices to ensure compliance to all safety and environmental regulations. Good vision (able to design visually with the proficiency to distinguish color patterns and identify good use of color). Communicate effectively both written and orally with excellent organizational and detail oriented skills. PC and systems proficiency. Use hand and power tools including gas or diesel operated equipment. Familiarity with MSDS and personal protection and working knowledge of IWS and FA equipment. A day in the life: Pulling print schedules, printing or pulling films, sheeting blanks, washing and coating screens, burning films, and stretching screens. Conduct quality checks, touch up and repairs, labeling, boxing and shipping. Ensuring all safety and housekeeping rules are adhered to. Assist in maintaining shop machinery and equipment. Physical Demands and Work Environment The primary work environment is a shop. Shop is climate controlled but may be required to work outside and in other areas during periods of extreme temperatures. The physical demands include moderate lifting (up to 75 pounds), pushing, reaching, seeing (with a focus in reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, and climbing.
