Discover is seeking a Production Support Specialist (Payments) to manage the strategic relationship between Client Services and Infrastructure Services. This role involves working with client servicing teams and leadership to assess operational gaps and provide strategic solutions while prioritizing client focus. The specialist will lead infrastructure platform design, ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory responsibilities, and actively manage risk and customer-impacting issues.

  • Drive and manage the strategic relationship between Client Services and Infrastructure Services.
  • Work with client servicing teams and leadership to assess operational gaps and provide strategic solutions.
  • Lead infrastructure platform design by delivering business requirements to development teams.
  • Act as the primary lead for audit/compliance/regulatory responsibilities for Production Support teams.
  • Manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues.
  • Lead self-testing on team procedures/controls to satisfy compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance/regulatory processes are initiated as needed.
  • Work with Risk/Compliance to align on existing and new procedures/policies.
  • Identify and coordinate operational gaps within Infrastructure platforms and Operations processes.
  • Support deep-level Infrastructure platform design and system level requirements.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for client-facing teams.
  • Prepare clear communications to internal and external business partners.
  • Conduct analytics to find business impact and solutions for strategic incidents/requests.
  • Establish framework for collaboration between Infrastructure Services and Client Support.
  • Liaise between Client-Facing and Infrastructure teams to ensure understanding of impacts from new enhancements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, International Business, Information Technology, Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Payments, Technology, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, Communications or related.
  • In lieu of education, 8+ years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Experience working with Auditors and Regulators.
  • Ability to create new policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Ability to execute self-testing of existing controls.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint, ServiceNow, and Google Workspace products.
