About The Position

Evaluate, adjust, and coordinate efficient and effective production adjustments in a manufacturing environment Field questions and provide answers to shipment schedules, plans, and forecasts as knowledge of production status develops. Identify bottlenecks in production flow and communicate with production leadership to ensure necessary labor, material, and support is applied to relieve the bottleneck. Work closely with Customer Service, Planning, Supply Chain, and Ops Management team to execute manufacturing objectives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, plus 1 year of related vocational training and 1 year on the job training or equivalent.
  • Close attention to detail
  • Understand written English instruction
  • Complete basic technology applications / basic computer aptitude including proficiency in data entry.
  • Good hand dexterity
  • Detailed knowledge of company products, manufacturing and art processes, and company office procedures.
  • Ability to count accurately and perform simple math functions
  • Ability to inspect materials and finished products for defects
  • Well-organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to continue education in production and inventory control areas.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with leadership, internal customers and co-workers.
  • Aptitude to follow prescribed procedures and ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must have the ability to interpret and respond to all forms of correspondence as it relates to or affects orders.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to participate in a team lift of 50 lbs.
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for entire shift
  • Able to turn or bend
  • Comfortable with frequent ladder use
  • Able to grip/grasp continuously
  • Able to push a cart occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Reads and follows specific instructions, written in English.
  • Make specifications changes on shop packets and performs data maintenance to order system.
  • Reports production bottlenecks to leadership and/or solves them with creative thinking.
  • Contacts Customer Service and Production Art to resolve production prerequisite issues.
  • Utilizes system tools to analyze workflow and report on issues and successes.
  • Expedites priority orders and works with Operations Supervisors on strategy to complete them.
  • Answers “order maintenance” requests in the system.
  • Prints and sorts picks by date and product family to help execute warehouse picking strategy.
  • Works with Planning and Cost Accounting to update work centers and materials on shop packets.
  • Completes activity-based cycle counting as needed.
  • Performs general housekeeping and department six sigma activities.
  • Adheres to all Department and Company Standards, Operating Procedures and Safety Requirements.
  • Treats others with respect and conducts themselves in a positive and inclusive manner daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
