About The Position

The Production Supervisor is a frontline leadership position that is responsible for supervising production line operations and personnel in accordance with plant policies and procedures. This role emphasizes the importance of safety, employee development, and achieving production goals while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or three years of experience as a production supervisor or two years as a Berry Production Team Leader.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must be able to monitor quality of machine output.
  • Capable of lifting (up to 35 pounds).
  • Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
  • Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives.
  • Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Must have written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Stretch/ Injection Blow Molding Equipment, especially Nissei, Aoki, Sidel and Husky.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point and JDE.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safety of all employees through active engagement in safety activities and clear communication of safe work expectations.
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
  • Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees.
  • Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.
  • Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
  • Monitors quality of product; inspects bottles for defects, inspects boxes for damage and properly follows customer pack patterns.
  • Communicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the Goals of the Department and the Plant.
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
  • Willing and able to work overtime when needed.
  • Identifies and reports violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Effectively responds in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and directs the activities of others.
  • Provides supervision, motivation and work direction to operator, material handler, mechanics and leads in the injection department.
  • Assists in staffing and maintaining a fully qualified and efficient team to meet production standards.
  • Assigns work and provides technical assistance to meet production schedule and inventory requirements.
  • Performs daily reviews/analysis to determine status against production goals.
  • Leads teams and committees and special projects as required.
  • Prepares for and monitors product changeovers, verifies line clearances.
  • Packs bottles to support packers at breaks/lunches.
  • Ensures completion of daily and weekly preventive maintenance on shift.
  • Identifies and reacts to various sounds and alarms.
  • Provides appropriate and timely feedback on performance.
