About The Position

Villari Foods is currently seeking a 1nd-shift Production Supervisor. This position will be over the Harvesting area. The right candidate will have strong leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality products. They’ll be responsible for supervising and coordinating employees. Specific Duties Include: Work with USDA and QA inspectors to ensure food safety and quality. Work with Human Resources to ensure staffing levels are met, fostering positive employee relations, employee safety, policy and practice adherence and employment/labor law compliance. Follow specifications for operating and maintaining equipment. Ensure onsite shift startup and proper end of shift breakdown/cleanup. Train workers in safe, productive, efficient operation of equipment. Manage associate performance through training, coaching and counseling. Plans and directs associates in the performing of GMPs, SSOPs and CCPs for production areas. Manages the proper flow of production as related to throughputs and yields, movements of raw and finished goods to appropriate processing and storage locations and tracking costs and standards attainment in assigned areas and ensuring quality and accuracy of production related data in Carlisle system Drive adherence to good inventory management practices as it pertains to production materials and the generation of finish goods. Managing Cost Savings/Safety/Operations initiatives as assigned by Director of Operations Interact with maintenance to ensure maximum equipment shift up time. Ensure a safe work environment for associates through proactive safety inspections, ensuring PPE is worn, associated training , compliance with written programs, accident investigation and seeing that any hazards are corrected. Effectively communicate across shifts in verbal and written form. Must be trained in HACCP and SQF protocol. Perform all other task assigned by management and shift superintendent. Essential Job Functions The requirements that an individual should possess to perform the essential functions of the job : Maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications. Develop PC skills to include e-mailing, reports, and Carlisle system interactions. Capable of following verbal and written instructions. Available to work various shifts. Capable of sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time. Understand and follow company policy as stated in the employee handbook.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years supervisory skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Capable of standing and walking significant amounts during the shift.
  • Work longer hours as needed to satisfy customer and USCS daily and seasonal requirements.
  • Able to sit, walk, and stand
  • Able to speak and hear for safety and productivity
  • Able to use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment
  • Able to reach with hands and arms

Nice To Haves

  • PC, leadership and planning skills helpful.
  • Experience in Enterprise systems, Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint preferred.
  • Experience with production paperwork preferred.
