About The Position

As a Production Supervisor at Maverick, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will coordinate labor assignments and supervise employee development while ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. You will enforce safety procedures, collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and other departments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet production goals while fostering a positive and productive work environment. This role is onsite and located in Rantoul, IL.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (preferred) with an emphasis in management or supervision.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
  • Working knowledge of shop floor interfaces such as MES and SAP (or similar platforms).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to influence productive working relationships and support team building.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality checks on sites and equipment to ensure customer and quality standards are met.
  • Develop work schedules to achieve production goals and ensure appropriate labor coverage.
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Provide training and cross-training, conduct evaluations and reviews, and initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Monitor and supervise cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Generate and review daily operations reports to ensure shift continuity and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate maintenance items to support equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to develop and oversee onsite quality standards.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve and attain plant objectives and enhance efficiencies.
  • Document injuries, make recommendations, and follow up with corrective actions to prioritize safety.
  • Hire, coach, develop, monitor, and evaluate staff performance; review and recommend personnel actions for approval.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.
