About The Position

This is a salaried position that reports to the Operations Manager. This position is responsible for the quantity and quality of work performed on the production line and in the batching process.

Requirements

  • BA Degree from a four-year College or University; or 3-4 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a supervisor role, coaching and production experience.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Experience with order processing systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate the job expectations and monitor their progress by coaching, counseling and enforcing systems, policies and procedures and administer disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Participate in the interview process, selection, orientation, and training of employees in the department.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the production process and add personnel and resources as needed.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to accomplish the work demands.
  • Establish priorities and monitor the progress, and revise schedules as needed to resolve problems.
  • Report results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by communicating with the Maintenance Department when repairs are needed.
  • Verify that the production line is properly staffed and that line speeds achieve optimized efficiency.
  • Verify that product and packaging components are correct and meet the finished product specifications.
  • Ensure that the finished products are submitted to the lab for sensory and analytical testing and that they comply with CCP’s (pH and Metal Detector tests).
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Prepare production reports and verify the accuracy of units produced.
  • Report the downtime, investigate and explain the reasons, and take the necessary steps for corrective action.
  • Conduct annual employee performance reviews to assess their competency, knowledge, and contribution.
  • Ensure that SOP’s, GMP’s, and safety rules and policies are strictly followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
