Summary/Objective The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing shop operations within a manufacturing and assembly environment. This role involves planning and assigning work, implementing company policies, and driving process improvements to enhance production efficiency and quality. Essential Functions Manages shift performance metrics, including visual controls, and provides regular progress reports to management. Collaborates closely with the Composites Manager to align production activities with departmental goals. Provides leadership and guidance to the production team. Maintains hands-on involvement in the manufacturing process while monitoring overall production performance. Effectively supervises employees in a unionized environment, managing work rules and grievances. Demonstrates expertise in following work orders as products progress through the manufacturing process. Conducts thorough investigations of workplace accidents. Specific Skills Required In-depth understanding of business and manufacturing practices and policies. Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills. Strong leadership, managerial, and diplomatic abilities. Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Proven analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Supervisory Responsibilities Oversees a team of 8+ employees, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards. Participates in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new employees. Develops and manages employee schedules and work assignments. Conducts performance evaluations for new employees during their probationary period. Handles employee disciplinary actions and terminations in collaboration with Human Resources
