About The Position

As the Production Supervisor at Greenstone Meats, you are a cornerstone of our New Jersey operations. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will drive the strategic execution of production schedules while ensuring our "Safety First" and "Quality Always" benchmarks are met. · The Mission: Coordinate resources, raw materials, and personnel to maximize volume throughput and margins without compromising food safety. · The Impact : Provide timely, profitable solutions to customer needs while upholding the highest standards of integrity and health & safety. · The Team : Serve as a supportive leader for plant workers, overseeing their training, safety, and professional development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience as a Food Processing Plant Lead Hand or Supervisor.
  • Proven background in the North American or Global Meat Industry, specifically with a manufacturer or distributor.
  • Deep knowledge of meat industry processes, including butchery and portion cutting.
  • Secondary school graduation diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HACCP, quality control systems, and all regulated food safety and health standards.
  • A proven track record of supervising, training, and developing production personnel.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing product packaging and processing while meeting high customer service standards.
  • Ability to champion quality and safety by modeling core values and upholding strict standards for all staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to effectively manage high-stress environments and the rigorous time demands of a US Production Supervisor role.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and executes all beef and lamb processing operations at the New Jersey facility.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure inventory levels meet customer needs and production schedules support full product availability.
  • Works with Procurement to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and manages vendor contacts for purchasing and delivery.
  • Monitors raw material and finished product stocks to ensure proper rotation and adherence to corporate inventory guidelines.
  • Directs all workers in processing, packaging, freezing, and storage activities.
  • Administers HR policies regarding hiring, scheduling, discipline, and performance decisions.
  • Provides direct and indirect training through Lead Hands, focusing on safety, HACCP, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensures all facility activities support SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and USDA regulations.
  • Models and enforces a compliant Health & Safety policy, holding reports accountable for legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors quality testing results and takes decisive action to ensure all product specifications are met.
  • Assists in financial management by reviewing costs, controlling labor overtime, and managing supply expenses.
  • Helps coordinate the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
  • Keeps corporate management informed on key operational and production conditions and trends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of the New Jersey plant.
  • Ensures prompt and decisive handling of service and product complaints as they arise
