About The Position

Fluidra is looking for a Production Supervisor (Chemical Manufacturing and Bottling Department) to join our team in Sparks, MD. WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE The Production Supervisor – Chemical Manufacturing (ChemMake) & Bottling is responsible for leading and overseeing daily manufacturing operations within the Bottling and ChemMake departments. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant production of chemical products while meeting quality, safety, and production goals. The supervisor will directly oversee Production Chemists, leads, and production staff, ensuring chemical batch preparation, bottling operations, and manufacturing workflows align with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Additionally, you will: Plan, direct, and supervise daily operations for the Bottling and ChemMake departments, including chemical batching, blending, compounding, and bottling processes Provide technical and operational leadership to Production Chemists and production teams, ensuring adherence to approved formulas, SOPs, and quality standards Establish and manage production priorities to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual output goals Ensure all chemical handling, storage, and manufacturing activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, including proper PPE usage and hazard controls Partner with Quality Control to ensure raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods meet specifications Oversee accurate batch documentation, production reporting, and ERP transactions related to chemical usage, inventory, and finished goods Develop, maintain, and execute training programs for chemical processes, equipment operation, safety, and GMP practices Cross-train employees to support production flexibility and continuity Coordinate staffing needs, including temporary labor, during peak production periods Ensure manufacturing equipment, mixing systems, and bottling lines are properly maintained and available for production Collaborate with Shipping and Planning to balance production output with shipping schedules Manage performance, coaching, and development of direct reports, including Production Chemists and leads Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing and process optimization

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing supervision, preferably in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or regulated production environment
  • Working knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, batching, blending, and quality control principles
  • Strong understanding of SOPs, safety regulations, and compliance requirements related to chemical handling
  • Proven leadership and people-management skills in a production environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using ERP systems for production and inventory tracking
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supervising chemists or technical production staff
  • Experience in bottling or liquid/powder chemical manufacturing
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting production equipment
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
