About The Position

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising production employees in their assigned area of production. This position is responsible for leading their team to meet predetermined key performance indicators and leading their team to improve daily by assessing bottlenecks of the operation and providing solutions to eliminate waste and maximize efficiency. The Production Supervisor implements policies and procedures in the production processes working with the production leads. The Production Supervisor is responsible for methodical improvements recommendations to the equipment utilizing a cross-functional approach with production, maintenance, safety, and quality departments. Additionally, this position has a key role in transforming company goals to actionable results on the production floor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree for a four-year university – preferable in business, supply chain, food science, or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a production environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and skill in ERP systems, data analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience collaborating and influencing cross-functionally within an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement across business functions; Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and follows all Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Audits and recommend updates to Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring product specifications are achieved in a safe, quality, and efficient manner.
  • Train and lead personnel for optimum line efficiency while maintaining established quality standards.
  • Lead daily team meetings to communicate priorities of the business regarding safety, quality, people, and cost to achieve optimal performance results.
  • Promotes a continuous improvement culture by putting and/or supporting processes, systems, and programs in place.
  • Monitor employee work habits for adherence to company policies; provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Determine work schedules and works with the People Scheduler to assign personnel in a fair and consistent manner. Approve timekeeping records and track absenteeism.
  • Develops and leads continuous improvement projects based on needs of the production process.
  • Quickly responds to interruptions on the production line and works closely with maintenance to mitigate any down time.
  • Ensure all inventory levels and locations are recorded and maintained accurately.
  • Ensure that all finished product specifications are met and date codes are accurate with an attention to lean manufacturing.
  • Monitor weights, temps and critical control points in accordance to HACCP and BRC guidelines.
  • Supports operational performance data requests including but not limited to waste management and reduction, efficiency improvement, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Assists with budgetary and spend variance analysis.
  • Actively supports company sustainability initiatives based on business priorities.
  • Maintain daily communications via shift pass downs on health of daily production goals.
