About The Position

Responsible for managing and directing assembly to produce and ship product representing $20M in annual sales with a focus on safety, quality, on time delivery, labor productivity, and continuous improvement. Motivate and develop direct reports to optimize successful employees and ensure strong employee performance. Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities to ensure effective operations and optimize cost and productivity. Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. As well as create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and the area is compliant with safety requirements. Revise production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure, material shortages, or operating problems. Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products. Coordinate, track, and maintain attendance, overtime equalization, vacation, training and time-off requests. Manage department expense budgets. Conduct regular department meetings with employee and team leads regarding communications, department and plant concerns, and policy interpretation. Provide training resources within the department for training new employees Support ongoing improvement on inventory accuracy and materials flow through the plant. Lead continuous improvement activities including the coordination of the continuos improvement ideas program, 5S monitoring and improvement, and CI and cost out deck management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering, operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience leading manufacturing projects or supervising manufacturing production teams.
  • Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Tualatin , OR.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and sustaining Employee Engagement activities
  • Knowledge of safety, quality and human resource practices
  • Knowledge of the computer systems that are used within the production, receiving and shipping areas

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience working with SAP shipping, receiving, material movement and production planning modules preferred.
  • Prior experience working in SMT, selective solder, wave solder, conformal coating, mechanical assembly, PCBA Test, RTV application, PCBA Test, & Final Test.
