About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible to oversee, coordinate and provide direct leadership and supervision for production operators. The processes include all Polyester and Urotuf production from raw material handling to drum packaging and bulk tanker shipping. Inventory management including coordination of cycle counting, process order review and related SAP entries.    The Production Supervisor must maintain safety, security and environmental performance in accordance with corporate and local regulatory requirements, focusing on production, quality and shipping goals while optimizing plant efficiency. Responsible for compiling, reviewing and analyzing production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of anomalies with product specifications and operating or production problems. The Production Supervisor will assess, analyze and assist employees in the resolution of work-related issues and ensuring regular and thorough communication to Production Manager and Plant Manager regarding such matters. Properly plan staffing to cover vacancies from vacation, sick, termination, or other events.The Production Supervisor will provide input and recommendations related to root cause analyses and investigations. This position will also perform bi-annual employee performance reviews. Working closely with the Production Manager;  Issues and ensures compliance with shift instructions and SOPs (BOM’s, reactor cooks, blends, truck & drum loadout) Supports the Management of Change (MOC) process Leads Incident investigations with operators (timely & thorough)   Identifies, stages and executes rework (work closely with Scheduler & Warehouse Supervisor) Coordinates and deliver operator training including sign-off sheets   Coordinates production downtime with Maintenance & Engineering (working closely with Scheduler)  Identifies and drives continuous improvement initiatives in the Production areas, including housekeeping and hazard recognition Provides input to annual operator performance reviews, commend and correct as necessary

Requirements

  • Communicate, follow-up and ensure compliance with daily shift instructions and participate in daily shift meetings with crews (may require alternate working hours)
  • Coordinate raw material and finished goods inventory management; work closely with Technical Manager on process order reviews, schedule and drive cycle counts and enter adjustments into SAP
  • Training - issue & discuss training material with operators. Follow-up to ensure updating, understanding and compliance of SOP’s and hold operators accountable.
  • Assist with and conduct annual operator performance reviews, commend good performance and hold operators accountable for less than acceptable performance.
  • Rework – work closely with Production Scheduler, Warehouse Supervisor and Technical Manager to execute the rework program and reduce/eliminate “blocked stock”
