Job Summary SHIFT/WORK HOURS: Shift A (Daytime Shift) General Purpose: Responsible for directing the molding manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality, and cost goals.

  • Responsible for the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment.
  • Manages a team of professionals (e.g., team leads, operators, material handlers, process engineering technicians) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
  • Reviews daily/regularly plant operating performance, evaluate areas that may be impacting performance, and advise on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality.
  • Troubleshoots/analyses operational problems and advises on their resolution.
  • Holds regular discussions with team leads, material handlers, process engineering technicians, operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding/capability.
  • Evaluate ideas for plant improvements and work with qualified engineers to develop project proposals to encourage improvements and changes.
  • May act as principal interface between the operation team, tooling and the maintenance function.
  • May train and coach operators and team leads.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance of standards and documentation.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing area personnel are trained and certified in their specific job functions.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing personnel adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree ideal/optional.
  • Must have 6 years' overall manufacturing operations industry experience which includes at least 3 years of production supervisory experience (e.g. hire-fire, disciplinary actions, delegating workloads, mentoring, coaching, etc.).
  • Work experience with any of the following manufacturing equipment: injection molding, automated assembly, manual assembly, and/or CNC.
  • Demonstrates the following: Expertise in complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; Advanced people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site.
  • To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to: Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
