UCT is looking for a talented Production Supervisor to join us in San Jose, CA! The Supervisor, Production oversees daily manufacturing operations within a semiconductor production area, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of production schedules. This role manages operators and technicians, maintains workflow continuity, monitors equipment and WIP status, and ensures adherence to standard operating procedures, cleanroom protocols, and quality requirements. The Supervisor drives performance supports issue resolution, and partners with Engineering, Planning, and Materials to meet output, yield, and cycle‑time goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech production operations.
  • Understanding of WIP flow, dispatch, cycle time, and basic fab operations.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating production teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret SOPs, production schedules, and basic process/quality documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and following strict protocols.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting specific fab modules (etch, dep, CMP, litho, implant, metrology, etc.).
  • Familiarity with MES systems, production dashboards, or fab dispatch tools.
  • Knowledge of SPC fundamentals, defect awareness, and quality control practices.
  • Experience improving line performance, reducing scrap, or enhancing operator training programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead shift-based production teams in fast paced environments.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Cleanroom, ESD, chemical handling, or safety training applicable to semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Lean/5S or continuous improvement training.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production operators/technicians, including workload planning, shift coordination, coaching, and performance management.
  • Ensure execution of daily production schedules, WIP priorities, and dispatch lists to meet output and customer commitments.
  • Monitor WIP movement, cycle time, tool availability, and bottlenecks; escalate issues to Engineering or Equipment as needed.
  • Enforce adherence to SOPs, cleanroom practices, ESD protocols, and safety/EHS requirements.
  • Support training and certification of production personnel on tools, processes, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Materials, and Planning to resolve production issues.
  • Review production data and KPIs (yield, throughput, line stops, scrap, cycle time) and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct shift start meetings, pass down reports, and cross functional coordination to ensure continuity between shifts.
  • Maintain accurate production records, logs, and system transactions in MES/ERP.
  • Support investigations and corrective actions for quality issues, excursions, or deviations.
  • Participate in NPI builds, engineering lots, and process qualification activities.
  • Drive Lean/5S practices, workplace organization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor consumables, tools, and material availability, coordinate with Materials for replenishment.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.
