About The Position

Summit Bodyworks, a premier builder of tool trucks, mobile libraries, moving trucks and other specialty vehicles has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Production Supervisor. Every truck we build is customized from the chassis up; we build our vehicles to suit the needs and desires of our diverse customer base. The Production Supervisor will oversee shop operations, ensuring efficiency and quality in production processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good motor vehicle record.
  • Two years working in a manufacturing environment (required).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with strong team-building skills.
  • Ability to understand and use our computer applications and data collection and recording (Excel,SAP, Email, etc.).
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail.
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods.
  • Requires lifting up to 75 pounds frequently.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery.
  • Occasionally works at heights using ladder or mechanical lift.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
  • Requires working in a fast paced environment.
  • Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations.
  • Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years in a management type role (preferred)
  • Experience in machine operations in a manufacturing environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ability to understand the production schedule and ensure the schedule is followed.
  • Balancing quality, productivity, cost safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; working to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Ensuring effective employee relations by communicating job expectations: planning, monitoring and appraising job results; providing employee coaching, development and discipline.
  • Provides leadership, management and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
  • Develop and recommend improvements for facilities, equipment or procedures to improve safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Report on key metrics established for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
