Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing (automotive preferred)
  • Ability to coach, lead, and motivate a team
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-moving environment
  • Knowledge of 5S, TPM, and general lean manufacturing practices
  • Comfortable using production systems, reports, and basic computer programs
  • Flexible schedule—must be available for overtime, weekends, or off-shifts if needed

Responsibilities

  • Conduct attendance reviews at the start of each shift and make proactive staffing adjustments to support production requirements.
  • Reallocate team members based on skill proficiency to address production demands or support training initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Team Leads to ensure alignment on production goals, shift responsibilities, and team coordination.
  • Support Team Leads in identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, ensuring consistent material flow through effective communication with material handlers.
  • Maintain continuous leadership presence on the production floor by ensuring at least one Lead remains with the line while the other manages replenishment tasks.
  • Oversee the execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, including equipment cleaning, RTV nozzle replacement, and completion of required checklists.
  • Hold team members accountable for scrap review and teardown activities throughout the shift, ensuring operational discipline.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date shift rosters reflecting team member names, assignments, and skill levels; develop and implement structured growth plans for operator progression.
  • Facilitate daily rotation of operators who have reached skill level 3 or higher to promote cross-training and operational flexibility.
  • Ensure strict adherence to scheduled breaks, providing appropriate coverage and relief to maintain productivity.
  • Proactively collaborate with preceding and succeeding shifts to address skill gaps and enhance team development efforts.
  • Enforce 5S workplace organization standards to sustain a clean, safe, and efficient production environment.
  • Communicate consistently with operators regarding training expectations, operational rotations, and career development pathways.
  • Verify that all material replenishment requirements are met before the conclusion of each shift to support seamless production handoffs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
