About The Position

Power Drives, Inc. is a Buffalo‑based manufacturer specializing in custom‑engineered hose, tube, and fluid conveyance systems for a wide range of industrial and mobile equipment applications. Founded in 1946, PDI is known for delivering high‑quality, reliable solutions backed by strong engineering expertise and decades of industry experience. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM OBJECTIVE Lead and develop production team members with the goal of fulfilling all internal and external customer requirements with the highest level of quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of supervision experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead and influence others
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Ability to comprehend and execute work assignments with minimal follow‑up
  • Above‑average written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer‑service‑driven approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Above‑average organizational skills
  • Above‑average math, reasoning, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the production team’s daily activities
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Ensure completion of the production schedule while meeting or exceeding all safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
  • Supervise PPAP production orders and communicate potential production concerns to responsible parties
  • Develop strategies to improve safety, quality, and efficiency of work performed
  • Ensure timely reporting and system transactions to track Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Create and execute plans to develop and cross‑train all direct reports
  • Evaluate team members regularly and provide feedback on performance and behavior
  • Ensure escalation process is followed to drive timely issue resolution related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Assist purchasing, scheduling, quality, and warehouse team members as needed to ensure company and customer needs are met
  • Adhere to and ensure all team members follow company policies, procedures, general work rules, safety rules, and use of safety equipment
  • Adapt to changing customer requirements
  • Participate in customer complaint resolution efforts
  • Lead and participate in daily area 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
