Summary : Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines to produce meat products by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops, recommends (to upper management), and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests (to upper management) changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of related department or work crew. May be asked to act as a contact for USDA. Acts as a contact for emergency situations including but not limited to fire alarm events and evacuations. Consistently models and enforces Stampede policies and company values. Arrives prior to start of production to effectively prepare for line(s) to start efficiently when production begins: check schedules, raw materials, employees, etc. Analyzes orders to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs. Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area. Plans flow of materials through departments. Calculates and documents production yields. Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. Inspects and measures products to verify conformance to specifications. Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products, which fail to meet standards. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Suggests (to upper management) changes in working conditions and use of equipment to maintain a safe workplace. Works with maintenance personnel on scheduling preventative maintenance on equipment. Responsible for managing the automated portioning equipment and related Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Ensures accurate data is entered into Canopy ERP system daily to reflect correct inventory and usage of products and supplies. Prepares for third party audits with assistance from Quality Assurance. Maintains certain aspects of the facility as required. Communicates and cooperates with Human Resources and Quality Assurance departments to enforce policies, regulations, and Good Manufacturing Processes amongst workers. Works with Vice President of Operations and Production Manager on special projects, as needed. Acts as back-up to other Production Supervisors, as needed. Regular and consistent attendance is required to effectively perform essential Supervisor duties to oversee production of products and non-exempt production employees. Performs other duties as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees with assistance from Human Resources Department; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience. Prior Supervisory experience is needed which includes strong leadership skills. Knowledge of USDA, HACCP, SSOP's and GMP's is desired. Other Skills and Abilities Multi-language is a plus.
