About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations during assigned shifts in a wire and cable manufacturing facility. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in wire and cable manufacturing
  • Experience in extrusion, conductor drawing, stranding, or cable assembly processes
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Good communication and reporting skills

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 1–2 years in a supervisory role preferred
  • Knowledge of wire drawing, extrusion, and cable manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate shift operations including drawing, stranding, extrusion, armoring, and cabling processes.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Monitor machine performance, output rates, and downtime.
  • Ensure proper material availability and workflow coordination.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate operators, technicians, and support staff.
  • Conduct shift briefings and communicate daily production goals.
  • Monitor employee attendance, performance, and discipline.
  • Identify training needs and support skill development.
  • Enforce safety standards, PPE requirements, and housekeeping practices.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and report hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal quality procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control for in-process inspections and testing.
  • Address and resolve production quality issues promptly.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper changeovers and machine setup procedures.
  • Prepare and submit shift production reports.
  • Track KPIs such as output, scrap rates, downtime, safety, and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production logs and inventory records.
