About The Position

THE PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR OVERSEES DAY-TO-DAY PRODUCTION FLOOR ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE SAFE, EFFICIENT, AND HIGH-QUALITY MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS. THIS ROLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING WORKFLOW, SUPPORTING PRODUCTION STAFF, AND ENSURING ADHERENCE TO PRODUCTION SCHEDULES, SAFETY PROTOCOLS, AND QUALITY STANDARDS. THE PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR PROVIDES DIRECT OVERSIGHT OF PRODUCTION SUPPORT ROLES AND WORKS CLOSELY WITH CHEMICAL BLENDERS BY OFFERING GUIDANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING SUPPORT, AND ENSURING PROPER EXECUTION OF BATCH INSTRUCTIONS, WHILE NOT DIRECTLY MANAGING THEIR PERFORMANCE. THIS POSITION SERVES AS A KEY LINK BETWEEN THE PRODUCTION MANAGER AND PRODUCTION STAFF, HELPING TO EXECUTE PLANS, RESOLVE ISSUES IN REAL TIME, AND MAINTAIN OPERATIONAL CONTINUITY.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or manufacturing training preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or chemical production environment
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment operation, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret batch instructions, production schedules, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workflow and coordinate team activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain organized and manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
  • Forklift Certification
  • Prior experience with hazardous material blending

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production activities to ensure alignment with established production schedules and priorities
  • Monitor workflow on the production floor
  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for blending and production processes, ensuring adherence to batch instructions and quality standards
  • Serve as a technical and operational resource to Chemical Blenders, offering guidance and mentorship without direct supervisory responsibility
  • Ensure proper use of equipment, including blending systems, pumps, and forklifts, and address operational issues as they arise
  • Enforce safety protocols, including proper chemical handling, PPE usage, and workplace organization
  • Support inventory control processes, including material staging, usage accuracy, and adherence to FIFO practices
  • Assist in training new production employees on processes, equipment, and safety procedures
  • Communicate production status, challenges, and resource needs to the Production Manager in a timely manner
  • Promote a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.
