World Class Customer Service Uncompromising Quality Family Feel/Professionally Run Qualitech is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for 3rd shift at their Kankakee IL location, to adhere to the production schedule and clearly communicating this schedule to all departments. Supervisors also provide daily reports for employees such as attendance and performance evaluations. The supervisor implements continuous improvement activity to reduce scrap and increase productivity. This individual will lead the team in applying Good Manufacturing Practices for safe food and feed. They will set the example by following processes and abiding by all safety policies. They are expected to ask questions when the process is unclear, or results are in question.

Requirements

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Five or more years of relevant manufacturing experience (food manufacturing preferred)
  • Five or more years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot processes to maintain consistent production throughput.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to all production personnel on each of the following: Production line operation Proper cleaning procedures both facility and equipment Work Safety Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Implement process improvements and assist in their development.
  • Assess and aid in the design of quality systems.
  • Implement Quality systems.
  • Ensure all Quality Requirements are being met on a daily basis, communicating any non-conformances to Management for review.
  • Drive manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, and disciplining employees; coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the processes; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Coordinate efforts with Quality team to troubleshoot any product quality discrepancies and execute on suggested adjustments to ensure finished product quality.
  • Completes production plan by establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedule as needed in case of equipment downtime; resolving problems; reporting results of the process flow at changeover or on logsheets.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment.
  • Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Lead Incident Report Investigations and utilize CI tools to determine root cause and propose immediate and preventative corrective actions.
  • Support Continuous Improvement efforts in the form of participation, making employees available for participation, and auditing and sustaining the improvements made as a result of all CI initiatives.
  • Maintain food safety culture in regard to food defense, quality and cGMPs for production and warehousing of products.
  • Other duties as assigned.
