About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting the production operations and other assigned department(s) to achieve production requirements. Responsible for the coordination of activities within his/her scope of control and sets priorities to accomplish business goals. The Production Supervisor is a "hands on" working lead role and may be asked to perform duties of an operator or forklift driver while managing a team.

Responsibilities

  • Establish standard work and work sequence for production lines and holds team accountable for meeting daily production goals.
  • Organize and direct production team appropriately to achieve optimal workflow to meet production deadlines.
  • Plan daily production for the team and communicate expectations to the team.
  • Runs the proper level of manning aligned to cycle times and budget.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are available and accurate for production workflow.
  • Identifies areas of improvement and training needs.
  • Maintains training matrix and signing of rework log sheets.
  • Understand capacity constraints and adjust workforce to meet customer needs.
  • Lead a start-of-shift meeting to discuss previous days safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance and the current day's plan.
  • Oversee the running and completion of all assigned work orders.
  • Sends out a daily shift hand off report (End Of Shift Report) to the management team.
  • Ensure company rules and regulations are followed on the production floor and coordinate with Human Resources and the Production Manager when necessary.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for the production team.
  • Record, notify, and report unsafe working conditions immediately to the Production Manager, and the Environmental / Health and Safety Coordinator, and Human Resources.
  • Maintain up-to-date professional and technical knowledge by attending educational training as assigned by the managers, supervisors, and human resources.
  • Partners with Production Manager to achieve responsibility of production floor by reporting daily safety, quality, throughput and all other assigned KPI's (Key Process Indicators).
  • Participate in run-at-rates and evaluate line stations and machines to ensure optimum function and efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety and 5S standards. Participate in safety walks and complete 5S checklists.
