About The Position

Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls capital and budgeted expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules based on manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. OTHER SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OR DUTIES Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources; knowing Varex's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization. Assists manager in development of long range plans as required. Scope of role may include interaction with other sites and operations. Performs a continuing review of safety considerations to minimize liability risk to company.

Requirements

Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Understanding of operations finance, particular to direct and indirect labor and associated expenses
Knowledge with Lean Mfg, DFT, JIT or similar principles
Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
Familiarity and working abilities with: Project Planning, charting and presentations
Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
3 years of related experience
Ability to stand the duration of the shift
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
Medium to light work that will constantly require employee to lift/move up to 15 lbs. and occasionally lift more than 40 lbs. to greater than 50 lbs.
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies constantly.
Reaching occasionally.
Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools constantly.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities.
Work environments include exposure to chemicals, repetitive hand motion, cold environment, hot environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
