Wieland is hiring a Production Supervisor . The Prodcution Supervisor will be responsible for managing daily operations within an assigned production area, ensuring the timely production, packaging, and shipping of high-quality products. This role requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills to engage and support the production team, as well as the ability to optimize processes to meet customer specifications efficiently and cost-effectively. This role is located in Texas City, Texas and will be fully on-site.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the metals industry, logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead, foreman, or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Strong communication skills, both in English and Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and assist others when needed.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment (computer, telephone, etc.).
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing administrative tasks.
  • Extended periods of walking, standing, and negotiating stairs during operational duties.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety excellence by enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead day-to-day operations in the assigned area through effective leadership, training, and coaching.
  • Inspire and motivate the production team to meet and exceed production goals.
  • Manage, hire, cross-train, and schedule personnel to meet customer demands.
  • Conduct onboarding activities for new hires and ensure proper desk access, paperwork, etc.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement initiatives to identify production challenges and implement solutions.
  • Monitor and report on production throughput, yield, efficiency, and scrap, addressing any performance issues.
  • Maintain optimal equipment effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity across production lines.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling and Operations to ensure proper project scheduling.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Team to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Quality, Payroll, HR, and Safety teams to meet operational goals, customer satisfaction, and a safe working environment.
  • Communicate with all departments and employees professionally and effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Use company software to complete administrative tasks such as reporting, data entry, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure accuracy in all records, promptly addressing discrepancies.
  • Respond to calls, emails, and correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete all duties with integrity and maintain confidentiality as required.
  • Other relevant Operations tasks as assigned.
