About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of production team members during a 12-hour shift, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role requires effective leadership, adherence to company policies, and continuous improvement in production processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a college or university; and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Excellent ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Excellent ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general PC skills.
  • Above-average problem-solving skills to resolve disputes.
  • Above-average ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and maintain constant mobility.
  • Ability to move within and between departments.

Responsibilities

  • Assure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Plan work for the shift operation and assign work to production operators.
  • Assist in the selection and hiring process for new employees.
  • Train and onboard new employees.
  • Monitor quality, productivity, and scrap rates.
  • Manage machine downtime and coordinate repairs.
  • Administer company policies and procedures.
  • Review of timecards and PTO for payroll, for given shift.
  • Provide leadership and set an example regarding safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, settle disputes, and assist workers in problem-solving.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
  • Communicate directly and honestly with employees.
  • Maintain floor cleanliness standards.
