About The Position

Crafco, Inc. is seeking a Sealant Production Supervisor at our manufacturing facility in DeKalb, IL. (1st Shift) Do you have Production Supervisory experience in manufacturing and looking to join a great team that showcases your skills? If so, our sealant plant in DeKalb, IL, is looking for you! This is a 1st shift supervisory position that will be responsible for the safe operation of all mixing and storage equipment as well as ensuring that the manufacturing of all sealant products is completed in accordance to guidelines and formulation instructions set by the engineering department. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years experience with production supervision in manufacturing or plant operations
  • Computer Proficiency including email, Word, Excel, and MS Office applications and proprietary systems
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US and have a valid driver's license.
  • Any employment offers are contingent upon a pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVR.

  • Quality certifications, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Continuous Improvement backgrounds are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of sealant manufacturing including proper coaching and training of assigned personnel to ensure and maintain an efficient and safe operation.
  • Supporting company's Target Zero safety initiative to create an incident and injury free work environment.
  • Developing and leading a cross-trained workforce.
  • Mixing various raw materials per batch forms and following instructions created by sealant engineering.
  • Leading department daily management meetings.
  • Leading and performing root cause analysis when problems occur as well as individual performance evaluations.
  • Maintaining established quality standards for packaging, labeling, palletizing, handling, and storage of Crafco products.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to order and maintain appropriate levels of supplies and materials.
  • Weekly inventory cycle counts to track and help ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Control the costs associated with the operation of the department including labor, overtime, supplies, scrap, and tooling as outlined in the departmental budget.
  • Managing inventory storage tank levels for asphalt & scheduling inbound and outbound tanker trucks for the roofing department.
  • Available to work 1st shift, with overtime as required based on production needs.
