About The Position

Position ExpectationsShift: 2nd shift (from 3:30 pm PST to 12 am PST – subject to change due to business needs ) This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the FUTURE  This position is 100% onsite in Goleta, CA Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000Main Responsibilities:Operational Leadership- Lead all second-shift production activities across the plant.- Execute the production schedule; adjust labor and workflow in real time.- Own shift-level KPI performance (OEE, scrap, throughput, labor efficiency, downtime).- Enforce standard work, WIs, and operational discipline across all departments.   People Management- Direct and support hourly operators, area leads, and maintenance techs assigned to the shift.- Conduct pre-shift meetings and provide clear performance and safety expectations.- Address attendance, conduct, and performance issues with appropriate documentation.- Support onboarding, cross-training, and team development to build a flexible workforce.   Safety & Compliance- Serve as the primary safety authority during second shift.- Enforce LOTO, PPE compliance, safe operating procedures, and hazard reporting.- Lead initial incident response and documentation for safety events.- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and site compliance requirements.   Quality & Process Control- Ensure manufacturing processes meet specifications and follow Work Instructions.- Partner with Quality to contain defects, manage holds, and escalate issues promptly.- Enforce documentation, traceability, and proper handling of nonconforming material.   Maintenance Coordination- Coordinate with on-shift Maintenance Technicians and the Maintenance Manager to address equipment downtime and prioritize repairs.- Communicate critical equipment issues to the Operations Manager and Maintenance for next-day resolution.   Shift Coordination & Communication- Deliver a comprehensive end-of-shift report covering performance, issues, downtime, and carryover items.- Ensure seamless handoff between first, second, and third shifts.- Participate in daily Tier meetings and represent second shift operational status.   Continuous Improvement- Identify and escalate bottlenecks, waste, and safety hazards.- Support Lean, 5S, and standardization initiatives.- Recommend improvements to labor utilization, equipment reliability, and process flow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain and or a related technical field required
  • 3+ years of production supervision or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead large hourly teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and quality systems.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to walk the production floor regularly and access all work areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and PPE requirements.
  • Primary schedule is second shift; availability for overtime, weekends, or emergencies as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in filtration, plastics, chemical, or process manufacturing.
  • Background coordinating with maintenance or basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Lean/5S experience or certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
