Semtech is seeking a Production Supervisor to support the Colorado Springs manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the production workforce supporting the advanced packaging of wafer and die level silicon products. Job Summary Production Supervisor: The production supervisor works in coordination with the Operations/Production Management to understand the current demands and upcoming needs of the organization. This allows the production supervisor to set goals for daily operations within the fab and direct operator's priorities accordingly. The supervisor is responsible for identifying obstacles to stated goals and for seeking assistance from management, engineers, and/or maintenance as needed to resolve roadblocks. The supervisor will have a team of operators that report directly to them and will be responsible for. The supervisor must be comfortable directing operators in accordance with company policy and reporting violations to HR. While a strong candidate will exhibit qualities of a leader, they must also be able to perform all operator functions. This means they must be capable of operating a variety of automatic or semi-automatic manufacturing machines including robotic assembly equipment used in the production of the company's semiconductor products.

  • Works directly for Production Manager on all manufacturing related aspects to ensure safe, on time and cost effective manufacturing execution and delivery. 10%
  • Ensures activities in production area(s) meet production goals and support quality and cost objectives. 10%
  • Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions and implement corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. 10%
  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production floor; communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions. 5%
  • Runs a safe, incident/injury free work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. 5%
  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment and follow clean room protocols. Must understand best practices for safe handling of chemicals. 5%
  • Must have knowledge of all OP's and CAR's for audits. 5%
  • Write Work Instructions and Operating Procedures as required. · Oversee training requirements for the production department. 5%
  • Interface with engineering, management, and maintenance 5%
  • Setup and operate assigned production equipment striving to achieve goals for quality, efficiency and productivity 5%
  • Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship. 5%

  • Maintains reports to reflect scheduling, methods, support performance and process procedures. 5%
  • Perform and direct 5S activities 5%
  • Oversee daily passdowns from previous shift 5%
  • Performs the role of a Production Technician in the absence of other duties for the shift. 5%
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 5%
  • 2-5 years operator experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to work compressed work shifts as well as possible participation/attendance for meetings/classes on unscheduled days
