About The Position

We are seeking a manufacturing production supervisor for our Ready Case Beef Plant in Olathe, KS. This role will report to the Production Manager and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a production facility, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently and safely by managing staff, coordinating production schedules, maintaining equipment, and enforcing safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate and manage a team, delegate tasks effectively, and provide clear direction.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and quality control procedures.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve production efficiency.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication with team members, management, and other departments.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience in a related environment (for example, logistics / supply chain, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing).
  • 2 years’ experience in clerical-related responsibilities (for example, filing, data entry) and computer applications (for example, email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, food science or related area.
  • Packaging experience within a related environment (for example, dairy production, food processing, and manufacturing)

Responsibilities

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules to meet deadlines, manage workflow, and assign tasks to production team members.
  • Quality Control: Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality standards, identify and address quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and train production staff, evaluate performance, provide feedback, and address employee concerns.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, conduct safety inspections, and promote a safe working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning of production machinery, identify and report equipment malfunctions, and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track production metrics, analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and production delays.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on production progress, quality metrics, and performance to management.
