About The Position

The Production Supervisor at Dairy Farmers of America is responsible for providing work direction and supervision to production employees while adhering to standard work rules, union contract provisions, and employment policies. The supervisor will monitor all stages of the production process to ensure accurate processing of products and fulfillment of customer orders through appropriate production scheduling. The role emphasizes accountability for safety rules and regulations, food safety, and quality. The supervisor will ensure smooth production flow and meet daily production goals while acting as a resource and escalation point for direct reports. Coaching, mentoring, and providing performance development opportunities to team members is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Undergraduate degree in related curriculum preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food and/or beverage manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership aptitude, team lead experience, or supervisory experience.
  • Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, assign work, and provide clear direction to production employees.
  • Monitor operations activities to ensure plant production and quality standards are met.
  • Monitor equipment used in production processes for efficiency and cleanliness.
  • Promote safe work behaviors and hold self and direct reports accountable for safety rules.
  • Conduct accident/injury investigations and report to HR.
  • Understand and fulfill food safety and quality requirements.
  • Supervise production scheduling to meet order demands and productivity goals.
  • Look for ways to increase operational efficiency and contain costs.
  • Promote positive working relationships and apply work rules consistently.
  • Communicate effectively with employees through meetings and informal methods.
  • Complete supervisory activities such as promotions, timekeeping, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices and company regulatory requirements.
