About The Position

This individual supervises and directs team members in a group of Value Streams or Operations Function. Oversees manufacturing of stock and custom products or the proper execution of tasks to support the operation from a functional area. The Production Supervisor spends a majority of their time at the forefront of production, on the shop floor. Maintains the Lean and Scheduling boards on a daily basis. Review key metrics to ensure customer expectations are met. Maintain quality level and monitor performance of team members. Responsible for manufacturing these products to establish customer specification and cost. Initiates and implements continuous improvement projects relating to machinery and processing methods consistent with Lean Manufacturing principles. These projects include leading or participating in cross team and departmental initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in supervising and coordinating production activities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to analyze production specifications and capacity data.
  • Experience in training and overseeing production technicians.
  • Familiarity with ISO practices and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities regarding the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments of the industrial plant.
  • Oversee and train a team of production technicians on regular responsibilities and proper procedures for handling hazardous waste.
  • Analyze production specifications and Value Stream capacity data, overseeing calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Ensure production of quality materials by following ISO practices and compliance to specifications and policies.
  • Partner with other Production Supervisors to ensure project status, resolve production schedule problems, and utilize resources effectively.
  • Draft production planning and control instructions, standardizing procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Plan workflow for each department according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Schedule fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for production workers.
  • Achieve key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with team members in the value stream to understand critical needs of internal and external customers.
  • Assume major responsibility for SQDCC (safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash).
  • Communicate and cultivate understanding of the markets and products serviced by the team.
  • Facilitate new product and external customer development processes within the team, assigning resources as needed.
