About The Position
The Production Supervisor at TST INC is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers assigned to the production departments during off-shift operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently, particularly when other supervisors or managers are not present. The supervisor will carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards of production quality. In this position, the supervisor will examine materials and products at various stages of production to evaluate their conformance to specifications. This includes inspecting the setup of machines and casting equipment, observing machines and equipment, and taking corrective action as necessary to address any malfunctions. The supervisor will execute production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for job assignments, ensuring that customer specifications and job orders are met by directing and coordinating production workers effectively. The role also involves enforcing company policies among employees and taking corrective action in conjunction with the department manager and HR manager when necessary. The supervisor will recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, as well as suggest changes to enhance department efficiency. Additionally, the supervisor will analyze and resolve work problems, assist workers, and practice employee motivation techniques to foster positive work behavior. Administrative duties such as preparing attendance, time, and production records, as well as requisitioning supplies and materials, are also part of the responsibilities. The supervisor will confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities across departments and shifts, and prepare performance reports for the department manager on a daily basis.
