About The Position

The Production Supervisor & Site Safety Lead is responsible for leading the production team to achieve key safety, productivity, quality, and cost metrics by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and addressing performance issues; and ensuring adherence to systems, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean tools will be a key part of successfully reducing waste and driving team accountability. This position will also be the leader for Site Safety and will chair the Site Safety Committee, driving and improving safety throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain, Leadership or other related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Applications, Access, ERP systems)
  • Servant leadership mindset and actions
  • Experience in lean manufacturing / continuous improvement environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all department machinery, equipment, and resources. Maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. Responsible for 5S within the work areas.
  • Responsible for ownership of the Site Safety Committee and the primary point of contact for Site Safety.
  • Inform Management of safety issues, reports workplace injury or incident
  • Develop and drive root cause countermeasures for safety concerns and incidents
  • Investigate workplace incidents
  • Communicate known safety hazards and train employees using a variety of training methods
  • Encourage and enforce safety rules and safe work habits with team members
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely input, maintenance, filing and reporting of all employee data, including Dimensions/Kronos timekeeping system.
  • Scheduling and coordination of training including the maintenance of the training matrix.
  • Provide support for quarterly pizza meetings, town hall meetings, and other plant events
  • Assist with communication as requested (print and electronic) for events, reminders, and other employee relation activities.
  • Set Daily Goals for the team to Improve Safety, Quality, and Productivity
  • Attend and communicate combined shift results in Daily Management Meetings
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis of missed targets; drive action plans to address the root cause
  • Participate in and support Rapid Improvement Events (Kaizen)
  • Manage individual team members’ performance through the performance management process
  • Work with HR and the Production Manager to develop and deliver disciplinary action when needed and appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned
